Anthropic takes #1 from Google DeepMind
Anthropic is the new #1 on the scoreboard, with a weighted score of 94.4 as of 19 Oct 2026, ahead of Google DeepMind's 92.3. Nine days earlier, in the backfilled 10 Oct 2026 snapshot, Google led 98.1 to Anthropic's 93.9. Anthropic was already ahead in the 17 Oct 2026 snapshot, 94.4 to 93.3.
The model leaderboards can't explain the flip in this comparison: the backfilled 10 Oct snapshot holds Arena and Artificial Analysis at their current values, so only odds and financials differ. Google DeepMind holds the #1 spot on the Arena text leaderboard with a preliminary score of 1524 as of 15 Oct 2026, versus Anthropic's 1508 (rank 3).
On Polymarket's "Which company has best AI model end of 2026?" market, Anthropic's Yes price rose from 41.5% (10 Oct, backfilled) to 49.5% (19 Oct). The odds component is scaled to the top price, so Google's fell from 100 to 79.8 and Anthropic's rose from 97.6 to 100. Odds carry 20 of the 100 weight points; for Google, scored on three components, that is 20 of 70.
Anthropic also has full 5-of-5 coverage: a model rank, an Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index position, revenue, a closed valuation and odds. Google DeepMind is scored on only 3 of 5 (model rank, AA index, odds), because Alphabet does not disclose lab-level revenue or valuation for it, so Google's weights are rescaled across fewer components.
The picture is not uniform across time horizons. A separate Polymarket market on "best AI model end of October" still favors Google heavily, 70.65% to Anthropic's 27.5%; Google holds the #1 spot in the 15 Oct Arena snapshot. The November market now leans Anthropic, 45.5% to Google's 43.5%, after Google's price fell 9 points and Anthropic's rose 5.5 points over the past week (Polymarket's one-week change). Read together, the three markets price a Google lead in October and an Anthropic edge later in 2026.
