Anthropic's run rate climbs to $67.2B after $16.8B Q3
Anthropic told investors its third-quarter 2026 revenue was $16.8B, up 45% from $11.6B in the second quarter, which itself was up sharply from $4.7B in the first quarter, according to CNBC (also reported by Reuters, Bloomberg and the Financial Times) from the company's 14 Oct 2026 investor day.
For Anthropic, the scoreboard annualizes the latest quarter itself, multiplying it by 4 (marked "q × 4" on the site): $16.8B × 4 = $67.2B, as of 30 Sep 2026, up from the prior $65.0B figure, an end-of-July run-rate reported by Reuters. The change shows between the scoreboard's 17 Oct and 19 Oct snapshots, where Anthropic's revenue moves from $65.0B to $67.2B.
A quarter-times-4 run rate is an average over the quarter, so it understates the pace Anthropic was actually running at by the end of September. The Financial Times separately reported an 11% adjusted margin and about $1.70 of revenue for every $1 Anthropic spends on compute, and CNBC reported the company is profitable on an adjusted basis.
One accounting note: Anthropic books cloud-partner sales gross, while OpenAI books its retained share net of partner sales. That means Anthropic's $67.2B run rate and OpenAI's $50B run rate are not calculated the same way, so they should not be read as directly comparable.
On the scoreboard, Anthropic's revenue was already the highest tracked figure before this update, so its revenue score component was 100 both before and after; the change shows up in the lab's receipts and underlying figure, not in a score move between the 17 Oct and 19 Oct snapshots.
